Vi välkomnar Rasmus Krigström som vår nya dirigent!
Rasmus Krigström, born 1986 Stockholm, Sweden. Started singing choir at the
age of 5. Started playing drums and piano at the age of 8. Attended Adolf
Fredriks Music School at the age of 10, it’s a choir school where every class is a
choir and practice basically every day in school.
Graduated Stockholm Music Gymnasium at the age of 19 after 9 years in choir
schools, already sang in some of the best amateur choirs in Stockholm, was very
into drumming at the time, attended a summer semester at Berklee College of
Music in Boston, drumming performance program.
Did the military service as a drummer in the Swedish Royal Army Drum Core.
Fall of 2006, he started singing lead in the barbershop quartet Ringmasters. Fall
of 2007 attended the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, studying choral
conducting and teaching methods. Started arranging more for vocal groups.
Starts working professionally with choir and ensemble singing, in the Swedish
Radio Choir mostly.
Ringmasters became Collegiate World Champions in 2008, 4th place in the
world in 2009, third place in 2010, started touring Europe and the US doing
shows, master-classes and clinics.
Spring of 2011 is spent working as a quartet singer on a cruise ship in the
2012 Ringmasters becomes International Quartet Champions, followed by a
similar cruise ship gig and a round-the-world tour. Rasmus starts coaching
quartets and choirs in Europe, Ringmasters are guest teachers at the Harmony
University in the US. Currently Rasmus is a certified music judge in the
barbershop style, also invited to coach in many places. He is the current director
of Zero8 and co-director Pearls of the Sound, from Helsingborg, all while
finishing his studies at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm.
Sofia Ågren (f.1985) var körens dirigent hösten 2007-2016, innan hon lämnade över ledarskapet till nuvarande dirigenten Rasmus. Läs mer om Sofia och hennes nuvarande projekt på www.sofiaagren.se .
